Toureen Group invest in people and plant
Toureen Group is delighted to announce a new addition to our plant portfolio. We have recently purchased a Kowan Still Worker and can offer our clients a virtually silent and vibration free sheet piling service. The fully enclosed and silenced power pack means that noise levels have been reduced in most cases to less than half the decibel output of a pneumatic hammer; thereby minimising the impact and disturbance to the surrounding environment. The piles, with pressing forces of up to 150 tonnes, are hydraulically driven into the ground without vibration. The process can be reversed to extract piles on temporary works projects using an extracting force of up to 160 tonnes.
The Still Worker is of significant benefit in environmentally noise and vibration sensitive sites and where traditional sheet piling methods cannot be adopted due to the composition of the soil.
With the wellbeing of our workforce always paramount, this new Still Worker provides a much safer working practice than traditional methods as it is operated via remote control at ground level. This means that operators do not have to climb ladders or work at height.
Sheet piles provide very quick, economic and convenient construction methods compared to contiguous and secant walls and are particularly beneficial for use in steel intensive basements and where access to the site is restricted.
At Toureen we pride ourselves in being able to offer our clients a one stop solution, including in-house pile design, providing increased value through integrated services. Having our own in-house plant division removes the margin otherwise payable to third party hire companies, enabling us to be more cost efficient and provide better value to our clients.
